Results - The 13th "SAKURA" Japan Women's Wine Awards 2026
The 13th “SAKURA” Japan Women’s Wine Awards judging sessions were held in Osaka on February 3rd at Hotel Nikko Osaka , and in Tokyo on February 6th at Cerulean Tower Tokyo Hotel.
A total of 430 judges, all women mostly in the Japanese wine industry, judged 3,715 items from 37 countries.
274 items were awarded “Double Gold”, 1,272 items were awarded “Gold”, 714 items were awarded “Silver”, and a total of 2,260 items were honored with awards.
In addition, 65 of outstanding items from the "Double Gold" were honored with the "Diamond Trophy".
There are also “Special Awards”, which consists of 10 sub-categories, and “Best Pairing Wine for Asian Cuisine” consists of 9 sub-categories. The items with the highest score in each category were awarded the title of “Grand Prix”.
Furthermore, SAKURA AWARDS 2026 has introduced the new judging categories; “Flavored Wine”.
In consideration of the recent expansion of the market, we have introduced two new categories this year : “Low Alcohol Wine” and “Non-Alcoholic Wine”.
